Christmas
Thanks to Kathy & Jo for participating in the Parade with me......it wasn't elaborate, considering we had 3 weeks & 3 of us, but we managed to hand out a lot of flyers & get our league name out there, so mission accomplished....
On Thursday Dec 23rd, we're having our 2nd annual Ladies Lobball Christmas get-together - 7:30 p.m. at the Tottenham Legion, so please try to come out for a while, pass the word around to each other (especially those who aren't on computers) & feel free to bring anyone you think may be interested in joining the league.
See you then!!

Banquet/Santa Claus Parade
Congrats to all the winners - sorry I missed the presentations, but I was flying in from Vegas at the time.....boy, my arms were sore!!! (sorry, that was really bad....) Apparently I went to sleep after the wedding & woke up as a showgirl (and brought one back with me) .....waddup wit dat???
I sure hope everyone had as good a time as I did - the DJ was mucho excellente & I can't believe how many people were still there by last call! Well done, ladies (ok, and gents too, but everyone knows that we party harder....and BETTER than our male counterparts.....and we look a hell of a lot cuter doing it too!!)
Thought I'd throw an idea out & see what kind of response we get - is anyone interested in helping out with a float for the Santa Claus parade on Dec 4th? We'd have to get something going pretty quickly - even if we can't do a float, someone could pull a couple of us down the street in a kiddie wagon, or something similar (hmm.....notice how I got myself out of the pulling....good, huh?) The theme is fairy tale characters this year, and we could hand out fliers advertising our league, killing 2 birds with 1 snowball....if anyone's interested, please let me know ASAP by commenting here, on my FB or email me at redrocket1962@hotmail.com.
Thanks ladies, you all rock, but then you already know that, dontcha!!

AGM Oct 19/10
First, thank you to the ladies who showed up for the meeting. It's very disappointing to see less than half our league attending, considering this meeting is where issues are discussed and voted on, so on a personal note, all I have to say is unless you had a really good excuse for not attending, please don't complain if you don't like any of the changes that were made!!
With the exception of Deb & Heather, the other 5 sets of co-captains will continue on next year, with the addition of Jo Pinelli & Mary Van Dyk (in the event we have 7 teams, Heather will co-captain with Carolyn Quibell)
The executive remains the same, with the exception of Deb Bentley-Dittmar, who stepped down as treasurer - thanks for a job well done, Deb - Kim Browne will now take over.
We voted to move our Community Week tournament back to Coventry Park, to participate with the Oldtimers & Men's League in raising money for the Help the Kids Fund & changed the time limit wordings in the constitution.
Congrats to Peggy Presenza for FINALLY (her words!) winning the draw for $50 off her registration next year.....better her than me I guess, I would've just spent $50 more in Vegas tomorrow!!
Have a great rest of the week, it's TGIF for me! See you Saturday night!

Another season is over....
ok, ladies, I'm trying out this blog-thing....I figure it's a good way to post news, stories, stats, scores, etc...any feedback is much appreciated...
just a reminder that our annual general meeting is Oct 19 @ 7:30 upstairs at the Legion, so please make your presence known - there's also a draw for all those in attendance to get your registration for 1/2 price next year!!
of course, the banquet will be Oct 23rd & it sounds like it will be well attended (but of course - there's food & alcohol there, duh!). it's always nice to see how well everyone cleans up....
that's it for now,
ciao bellas!
